To highlight the cause of the Filipino Muslims, the Motamar organised a conference on Peace and Unity among the Filipino Muslims in 1983 in Karachi.

Nuclear Arms Race and Disarment, 1984

In March 1984, the Motamar's seminar on "Nuclear Arms Race and Disarmament", held in Karachi, was useful in projecting the Muslim nations' viewpoint on this vital issue.

Establishment Of The Headquarters, 1987

A milestone in the progress of the Motamar was the establishment of its Headquarter complex in Karachi in 1987. The President of Pakistan, General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, inaugurated it.

Niwano Peace, 1987

In 1987, Japan's prestigious "Niwano Peace" Prize was conferred on the Motamar Al-Alam Al-Islami. The Motamar and its secretary-general were also the recipient of the equally prestigious Templeton Foundation Award.
