It is now more than one year that Israel blockaded the Gaza Strip. During the period, this totally illegal and inhuman action of Israel has caused untold miseries and hardships to the Palestinian people there. They have been living in sub-human conditions, many without even proper shelter on their heads. The entire population is denied daily needs. They cannot get proper food, clothing and other commodities; many cannot get even medicines.

There is no example of such cruelty and denial in the post war history. The Israelis who solicit world sympathies for the Nazi Germany's Holocaust on the Jews have been outdoing the latter in imprisoning and enslaving an entire population. Firstly, Israel is a totally illegal occupant of Gaza and for that matter, other parts of the Palestinian territory. Secondly, it has been keeping these territories under its subjugation against all laws and norms of international conduct; it is an outright aggressor in the territory.

Israel's continued occupation of the Palestinian and Arab lands is a constant affront to the world's conscience. It must stop all its activities there and vacate all these lands. There is no earthly justification for Israel to keep on occupying these lands and building settlements thereon. Israel has also no right to occupy Al-Quds (Jerusalem) or any part thereof...

Nowhere in the world is there such a massive violation of human rights as in Gaza where Israel has virtually imprisoned one and a half million people .There is no example in the present day world of such huge atrocity on an entire population by a power which has no legal or moral justification to be there at all. It is a matter of shame not only for the Israeli rulers but also for their supporters, the United States and other western powers and their lackeys.

Reports and accounts of visitors that have appeared in the media show that Israel has been committing war crimes against the innocent civilian population of Gaza. Not only during the invasion on Gaza when Israel did not even spare UNs office, schools and hospitals, but afterwards too Israeli soldiers have been continuing with their inhuman activities against the civilian population.

The people of Gaza voted the Hamas to power in an election. It is their right to choose whoever they like. Israel and the rest of the world must accept the verdict of the people of Gaza if they believe in democracy and human rights. The world must come to the rescue of the Gaza people by forcing Israel to lift the siege .If Israel refuses , the UN Secretary General, instead of mere statements , should act to stop the atrocities on the 1.5 million people of Gaza.
