Time for Muslim Ummah to wake up and know its real enemies

It would not be wrong to say that the Muslim Ummah is presently passing through one of the worst periods in its history. Instead of driving the benefits of the phenomenal progress achieved bymankind in various fields, the MuslimUmmah is embroiled in internal conflicts and wars and suffering their consequences in the shape of large scale destruction, human misery, hunger and poverty. Most of the wars, including proxy wars between big powers, in the today’s world are being fought on Muslim lands spilling Muslim blood and rendering millions of Muslims homeless who have been wandering in the world in search of shelter. Statistics would show that during the past 70 yearsmore Muslims than any other people have been rendered homeless in wars and other conflicts.

Two of the biggest unresolved disputes on the United Nations agenda today, namely Kashmir and Palestine, are also about occupation of Muslim lands by foreign aggressors who refuse to vacate their illegal occupation. And the tragedy is that due to the collective conspiracies of the enemies, the Muslim Ummah stands so much divided that it has failed to take a united stand on this naked injustice to the Muslims by their enemies depriving them of their native lands.

What is worse, when these deprived Muslim people try to fight the aggressors to derive them out of their lands, they are labeled as terrorists. First the Palestinians and now the Kashmiri Muslims are being condemned by the aggressors as terrorists to be sent to death en masse with no questions asked.

While the Palestinians are now divided into factions; in the process losing their sense of direction and also many of their allies, the Kashmiri Muslims in the India-occupied Jammu and Kashmir are united in their resolve and have been singlehandedly carrying on their struggle against their heavily armed foe which has deployed six to seven hundred thousand troops in the small area to put themdown. To break their resolve India has resorted to extreme atrocities on the Kashmiri Muslims and still calling the later terrorists to justify its own acts of terror and armed suppression of these helpless people.

But unfortunately, the Muslim Ummah is today too much divided to take a strong stand even on these two major issues.

Besides these two issues in which the members of the Ummah confront non-Muslim foreign powers, there are internal conflicts within the Muslimcountries which have destroyed the unity of the Ummah. Two unfortunate cases are that of the civil wars in Yemen and Syria.

The Syrian conflict has displaced millions of Muslims, many of them never to return to their homeland, while thousands of families are lying in camps in Turkey and other neighboring countries waiting to be repatriated when the conditions allow. The situation of Yemen is equally bad and still remains unresolved.

The real tragedy is that while the Muslim Ummah remains divided and, in cases, at loggerheads with each other, the enemies are firmly united and working according to their deeply laid plans to keep the Muslim countries apart and at odds with each other; in other words they have been manipulating matters to their advantage while the Muslim countries have been behaving like puppets in the hands of their worst enemies. India and Israel provide two typical examples. Both these countries have occupied Muslim lands and have virtually enslaved their entire populations for the past 70 years in open defiance of all modern day norms and the Charter of the United Nations. But the Muslim countries, despite their large presence in the United Nations and strong justification of their cases, have failed to come to the rescue of their Palestinian and Kashmiri brethren.

The situation is a challenge for the entire Muslim Ummah. It is high time that Muslims see through the conspiracies of their enemies and stand together to frustrate their evil designs against them.
